3rd/4th Grade 3 v 3 Basketball Program
4th Travel Basketball

Boys and Girls
All 3rd graders selected through our tryout process will be part of our in-house Player Development Program.  The 4th grade program will offer our in-house 3v3 Player Development Program and a one 4th Grade 5 v 5 Travel team.  All 4th graders will tryout.  4th graders ready for the inter-township play will be selected for a 5v5 team.  4th graders not yet ready for inter-township play will particpate in our Player Development Program.

EVALUATION/ PLAYER SELECTION:
After registering for tryouts on the MLBA website, players attend their designated tryouts. Evaluators select players best suited to learn and develop in the program. All players selected to participate in the league receive email notification to accept their place on the team roster and pay their required league fee.

FOCUS ON SKILLS:
All players will attend a weekly skills session with Coach Steve Brodzinski, a professional basketball skills coach and founder of Maximum Hoops Player Development. "Coach B" has been part of our organization for years, working with players at all levels and focusing on our youngest players to establish a head start and firm foundation of skill development.

PRACTICE:
As the season begins, players will attend a weekly practice sessions where they will work with a team coach focusing on basketball game concepts such as: spacing, moving without the ball, proper man-to-man defensive rotations, screening, etc. Teaching game concepts will build on the skills that Coach B will teach throughout the season.

3-on-3 GAME PLAY:
In January and February, all players will compete in weekly 3-on-3 games, where they will get the opportunity to compete and implement the skills and concepts they develop throughout the season. The 3-on-3 format forces each player to be a more active part of the game; increasing the amount of times a player touches the ball, producing more meaningful spacing and movements, and making sure each player is directly involved in game play.

TIME COMMITMENT AND EXPECTATIONS:

1. The season will run from mid-November through the beginning of March. 3-on-3 games will not start until January.

2. From November through December, there will be a total of two (2) events per week.

3. From January through February, 3-on-3 games will always be played on the weekends.  Games will last between 90 minutes to 2 hours. There will also be one (1) additional skill practice Monday thru Saturday – the times of such skill practices could vary week-to-week.

4. We will not practice or play during the Holiday break (approximately December 24th to January 1st).
