With snow still on the ground, the SDFC teams have been turned to indoor tournaments to build on their training and get the competitive juices flowing in preparation for the spring.
Indoor State Cup - Randolph, New Jersey
With teams ranging from u7 thru u13 competing at the Indoor State Cup, our teams came up against some of the best competition in the area. A quality tournament provided a great developmental environment for all teams, several enjoying success:

- Bu16 Rangers Yellow - Finalists
- Gu11 Galaxy Yellow - Finalists
- Bu10 Santos Yellow - Finalists
- Bu9 Bayern - Champions
- Bu8 Union Yellow - Champions
NYC Indoor Classic - Brooklyn, New York
SDFC had 10 teams represent the club at the NYC Indoor Classic in Brooklyn. Against quality competition from New York and New Jersey, the following teams came home with quality placings:
- Bu11 Mercury - Champions
- Bu10 Santos Black - Semi-finalists
- Bu7 Power - Finalists
Soccer Palace - West Orange, New Jersey
Throughout the winter, several of our teams compete against local opposition in West Orange. The following teams have enjoyed success so far this winter:

- Gu11 Galaxy Black - Champions (x2)
- Bu8 Union White - Finalists
SDFC Director of Development, Paul Nash stressed the importance of the indoor tournaments for the development of the players throughout the winter, "the tough Jersey winters mean we don't get outside enough, but still allows us to maintain our technical focus. Competition is an important element in development and we find that the tournaments provide this outlet for expression and evaluation irrespective of any silverware that we bring home."
